Maine Redevelopment is announcing its 2026-2027 Lightning Stabilization Grant Program.

Lightning Grant Guidelines FY27 2

This program helps municipalities address distressed properties they own that are at risk of further deterioration, potentially beyond the point of being viable for reuse. The intent is to “pause” the decline and create time for community visioning and planning efforts to begin or continue. There will be two rounds of grants this fiscal year. Key dates are:

Fall Round:
Applications Due: 8/31/2026 at 5pm
Award Letters Sent: 9/15/2026
Work Completed and Invoiced by: 12/31/2026
Spring Round:
Applications Due: 3/31/2027 at 5pm
Award Letters Sent: 4/15/2027
Work Completed and Invoiced by: 6/15/2027
